SMART goals are:
S – Specific
M – Measurable
A – Achievable
R – Relevant
T – Time-Based
What is the difference between goals, strategies, and tactics?
Simply put, a goal is an overall primary outcome of effort, a strategy is the approach you take to achieve that goal, and tactics are the tools you used in pursuing that goal associated with the strategy.
What is the importance of setting SMART goals when creating a marketing campaign? What questions should be considered?
Setting SMART goals can help an individual organize their process of achieving certain goals, as well as setting those specific goals. Setting these SMART goals allows an individual to have something measurable and actionable with enough specifics to achieve real results.
Some questions that should be considered are, is this goal realistic? Can it be measured in order to tack progress? What is a realistic timeline for this goa? and What do I need to do in order to accomplish this goal?
Provide examples to portray how marketing tactics align to strategies in order to support set goals.
SMART goals can be a great strategy for teams when collaborating on projects and looking to be the most efficient.
Example: If a company’s goal is to increase brand awareness some marketing tactics that can be used to achieve this goal are engaging with audience more in the comments. Collaborating with other brands or creators to increase word of mouth. Posting on social more regularly to increase consistency with a target audience. And using ad campaigns on a targeted audience to increase outreach.
How can you ensure that your SMART goals are met using key performance indicators (KPIs)? Explain using examples to support your rationale.
Key performance indicators allow for a quantitive value to measure the progress of goals. Some examples are the overall number of followers at different points on a timeline, the number of subscribers in that specific timeline, the number of views, and average engagement either per post or per campaign, etc.
